Packaging Utah
Traco Manufacturing, Inc. was started in 1985. They quickly became a leading U.S. manufacturing company and importer of packaging equipment and shrink film products. Since 1985 they have provided their customers with flexographic and digitally printed shrink sleeve labels and pressure-sensitive labels, packaging equipment and supplies of all varieties. They also have a distributor division of the business for the state of Utah called Packaging Utah.
The distributor division in Utah supplies packaging materials, corrugated boxes both standard and custom, filler, janitorial/sanitation supplies, machine, tools, and more through a Dba called Packaging Utah which runs side by side with the national business, Traco Packaging. Customers have long been confused as to what business they were working with because they would call the Packaging Utah, yet all business communications would come from "Traco." To stop the confusion, management decided that they need to brand Packaging Utah as its own front-facing entity. I was assigned to conceptualize and design the new sister brand logo and identity to reflect the concept of packaging, keeping it separate but as a sister-brand to Traco Packaging.
The company's owner and CEO was very pleased with the new logo which has been exposed via multiple marketing channels including social media. This side of the business has taken off, contributing to increasing sales for the company, just overtaking the amount of sales done by the national accounts side of the business.
